Today is the first day of choosing my own journey in the blogging world. I spent all of 5 minutes thinking what name would be most appropriate for something I could contribute to the blogosphere. In front of me were two inspirations: 1) a Choose Your Own Adventure book and 2) my 13 year old dog Journey.
“Is she named after the band?” is the question I always get when someone meets/hears about her for the first time.
“Not exactly,” I say. How could I possibly explain in 15 seconds of chit-chat how Journey grew into her name after our trips cross country? How I adopted her from my college housemate after Journey was left out to journey around the town? How Journey’s name was probably a result of other sources that induced journeys during those college years? How an Enjoy the Journey sign on my bookshelf serves as a constant reminder that this is where the sweetness is, not in the destination.
“What a great name!” is the normal response after my not-so eloquent rambling.
I smile because I know, even if I can’t take the credit.
I might not be the master of blog names (yet), but it only takes one. So go for it! Look at 2 things in front of you and let me know how you chose on your own blog-naming journey! (pun intended: )
